The Foundations Program provides a fun, age-appropriate introduction to soccer for players ages 3–8, helping young childeren build confidence, develop skills, and foster a lifelong love of the game.

Futures

The Futures Program is designed as the next step in player development, creating a bridge between our Micro Soccer Program and the Junior Academy.

Built specifically for U7 and U8 players, Futures provides a more structured training and game environment while maintaining a fun, age-appropriate approach to learning the game. Players will train in a pool format under the guidance of experienced JIYSC coaches, allowing them to work alongside a larger group of players while benefiting from professional coaching and a development-focused curriculum.

In addition to weekly training, Futures teams will compete within the Islands Soccer League, providing players with regular game opportunities in a supportive and developmental environment. The league schedule includes both in-house matches and games against teams from the Johns Island-based program, introducing players to a broader level of competition while fostering community connections across the Islands.

The Futures Program serves as an important transition stage for young athletes who are ready for increased training and competition but are not yet prepared for the commitment level of the Junior Academy. By combining professional coaching, meaningful game experiences, and a player-centered developmental model, Futures helps prepare players for the next phase of their soccer journey while continuing to build a lifelong love of the game.

MICRO Soccer PROGRAM

The Micro Soccer program provides educational and developmental training for our youngest players born between U4 - U6 children.

Micro-soccer emphasize basic skills while having lots of fun. Micro Soccer is changing from 4v4 to 3v3 soccer for the 2026/27 season. The program requires volunteer coaches to help coach the 3v3 teams. Players will experience more time on the ball and be have many more touches to help them grow. Teams are formed on a co-ed basis and will practice and play under this format. With the new structure, the games will become more competitive, and it will allow the coaches to focus even more on developing the player with specific age-appropriate drills.

The age groups are based on US Youth Soccer guidelines and as a club, we believe following these we will be able to offer a beneficial development program for the players. The concept behind Micro Soccer is to allow more touches on the ball by having small teams playing on small fields. The practice is led by professional JIYSC coaches alongside volunteer Micro Team Coaches. The sessions are designed to expose kids to the basic fundamentals of the game of soccer while promoting a “fun-first” atmosphere based on JIYSC curriculum.
