Jess Lempesis

My name is Jess Lempesis. We have been members of JIYSC for 6 years. I am applying for the position of President. Our first son, Jesse, plays for the U15 team, our second son, Gray, plays for the U12 team. Our third (and favorite) child, Lily, is a 2019 and is in the Microprogram in the fall. Having three children that will be a part of the JIYSC family, we have a vested interest in our club.

I have served on the board for the last 3 years and have been involved with many initiatives pertaining to facilities as well as other club initiatives. Here are some examples:

  • Bayview Light Project - I led the initiative to get the permitting, city approval, design, installation and management of the $900,000 lighting project
  • Field Maintenance - Working with Rowdy Floyd, (GM), Jason (Groundskeeper) and Brad French (consultant) to manage the fields the best we can with the foot traffic our club has with the growth of the club
  • Lowcountry United - collaborated with the board to create a welcoming atmosphere for new players and families that can help our club grow and expand outside of the reach of the club, while maintaining our identity of James Island Youth Soccer club in its tradition and foundation for our Junior Academy programs
  • Club Management - I am in contact with club leadership (Clark, Ryan and Liam) regarding the needs of the club from both a facilities standpoint and future growth and direction of the club.

I have always been involved with my children’s athletics, usually as a coach, but I’d like to give back to this club. We live in Eaglewood Retreat which is located right behind the fields. With our location and having three children active in the club, I will be at the fields often.

I have served on other boards in the past and would like to be involved with the continued growth and improvement of our soccer club. I want to be involved with future decisions of the club fields and facilities with a perspective on how to best position our club to continue its growth and ability to provide world class experience for its players and families.

In general, perform all of the duties incident to the office of the Treasurer and such other duties as from time to time may be assigned to the Treasurer by the President or by the Board of Directors.

Ginny Crisp

Watching my daughter grow through her time on the JIYSC 2015 team has been one of the real joys of the past several years— the friendships, the Saturday mornings, and the sense of community that surrounds this club. I have worked closely with the team to organize events that bring players and families together and previously had the opportunity to serve as team manager. Stepping into that role gave me a closer look at how much heart goes into making JIYSC what it is, and I'd love to contribute more of that energy at the board level.

My background also prepares me well for the responsibilities of this position. As a pharmacist and a local business owner, I manage budgets, financial reporting, and day-to-day operations on a regular basis. I have previously served as secretary/treasurer for two local pharmacy organizations, where I was responsible for maintaining accurate records, preparing financial statements, and supporting annual budgeting — duties that align directly with those outlined for the JIYSC Treasurer.

More than anything, I want to support the families, coaches, and players who make this club special.

ERIN Newberry

My name is Erin Newberry. I am a licensed CPA serving as an outsourced controller with a global accounting firm, where I support businesses in organizing their financials, enhancing reporting, and building strong, sustainable processes.

Our family is very involved in the club, with three boys playing across multiple age groups. All of them started in micro, and now we have two playing in the James Island Youth Soccer Club division, while our oldest plays in the Lowcountry United division. Through our involvement over the years, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the community, the coaches, and the opportunities the club provides for our kids.

I would love the opportunity to serve as Treasurer to support the club behind the scenes, bringing organization, transparency, and financial clarity to help ensure we continue to grow and provide a great experience for all families.

Thomas Rehm

My name is Thomas Rehm, and my family and I have proudly been members of the JIYSC community since 2021. My wife, Lisa, and I have four sons who all play for JIYSC and LUSA— Thad (2010), Barrett (2012), Rutledge (2014), and Leighton (2017). Over the years, our family has spent countless hours on the sidelines, volunteering, supporting teammates, and building friendships through the club. Soccer has become a major part of our family life, and I have developed a deep appreciation for the positive impact the sport has on children through teamwork, discipline, confidence, and community. JIYSC has become an important part of our family’s life, and I would be honored to serve as Treasurer.

Professionally, I currently serve as Corporate Controller for The 5th Street Group, where I oversee all the financial operations, reporting, budgeting, payroll, compliance, and strategic financial planning. Prior to this role, I worked as a Senior Accountant and Controller, supporting organizations with accounting management, financial reporting, forecasting, process improvement, and operational oversight. My background also includes more than 16 years managing operations, budgeting, payroll, and financial growth for a local contracting company. These experiences have given me a strong understanding of fiscal responsibility, financial transparency, and long-term planning.

In addition to my professional experience, I have remained actively involved in leadership and service roles throughout our community, including serving as President of the Riverland Crossing Association, Board Member for Saint James Day School, and member of the Finance Committee at Saint James Church, volunteer soccer coach.

I am passionate about supporting youth athletics and helping provide opportunities for children and families to grow both on and off the field. As Treasurer, I would work collaboratively with the Board and club leadership to ensure JIYSC continues to grow responsibly while maintaining strong financial stewardship for our families, players, and future development. I would be grateful for the opportunity to give back to a club that has given so much to our family and our community.

Please vote for me so I can go to work for you and your family!

MATT DORSEY

For the past two years, I have had the privilege of serving as Fundraising Director for JIYSC/Lowcountry United. During that time, our annual fundraising totals through sponsorships have more than tripled, helping provide increased resources and opportunities for our players, families, and programs.

I have worked to expand and strengthen the club’s sponsorship platform by implementing field sponsorships across both the Main Complex and Bayview Fields, while also engaging in ongoing discussions with larger corporate sponsors to continue growing long-term partnerships for the club. In addition, I helped establish a dedicated subcommittee focused on spearheading a future capital campaign to support the continued growth and development of JIYSC/Lowcountry United.

Beyond my role on the board, my family and I are deeply invested in the club and the community. My wife, Jenny, and I live on James Island, and our two sons both spent four years in the JIYSC Junior Academy before continuing on to play for Lowcountry United today. Being part of this club has meant a great deal to our family, and we truly value the relationships, opportunities, and sense of community it provides.

I look forward to the opportunity to continue serving another two years on the board and helping build an even stronger future for JIYSC/Lowcountry United. I sincerely appreciate your support and consideration.

VOLUNTEER DIRECTOR

The Volunteer Director shall be responsible for creating and maintaining all volunteer sign-ups, creating volunteer logs, and tracking all volunteer hours for current members. The volunteer director will have access to the database of all current members and maintain an accurate account of hours completed. The volunteer director will submit a report to the board of directors of incomplete hours to be billed to members.

JOE DENNIG

My name is Joe Dennig. I have two children, Chloe (U-12) and Henry (U-10), who have been players on JIYSC teams for 3+ years. I live locally on James Island and am very active in their day to day sporting lives. I am very present at their practices, games and tournaments and love the atmosphere the Club provides for all of the children in the program.

Personally I have run my own tourism-based small businesses in Charleston for 15+ years, so am very familiar with engaging and organizing large groups of people. I handle all of the facing-front aspects of the businesses as well as back office, so talking to folks and bookkeeping are both familiar.

I served as President of the HOA at our condo association, which is located near where the Carmike Movie Theatre on James Island used to be. So, I do have the grey in my beard and can handle the heat of working in a board environment.

I appreciate you taking the time to read this and would appreciate your vote.

SHANNON PAGE

As a parent of two boys at JIYSC and having served as JIYSC Secretary this past year, I understand both the meaningful impact this club has on players and families and the work it takes to keep it running smoothly, including the critical role volunteers play in that success. I’ve seen how essential volunteers are and how much organization and communication it takes to support the club effectively. I’ve stayed actively involved by supporting coaches and families, volunteering at events, and encouraging others to get connected, and I’m excited to run for Volunteer Director to take on a more active, hands-on role.

With 19 years of experience in education and school leadership, and as Database Manager and Upper School Registrar at Porter-Gaud School, I manage systems and communications that require precision, coordination, and accountability. I bring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience tracking information with accuracy, and I am confident in my ability to manage volunteer sign ups, maintain accurate records, and provide clear, timely communication and reporting to both the club and its families.

Our family is deeply invested in JIYSC, and I’m committed to creating a well-organized, positive experience for our players, families, and community.

LISA REHM

In 2007 I worked for a family of 6 whose children played for JIYSC. Today, I am still driving to and from our fields - My husband, Thomas, and I have 4 sons, all JIYSC Players. Our oldest, Thad, is a U16 and just finished his first year playing for James Island Charter HS. Our other sons are Barrett U14, Rutledge U13, and Little Leighton U10.

I work in higher education and hold a current teaching license in Early Childhood and Elementary Education in the state of South Carolina. I began my teaching career 23 years ago in Chapel Hill and started coaching tennis for Charleston County Schools and the City of Charleston almost 20 years ago, as well as captained and played for multiple adult leagues. During college, I sailed for UNCW and served as the club's Secretary. I have many years of experience volunteering via various schools and nonprofits in the Carolinas, including 3 years at the Sea Turtle Hospital in Topsail. Our family is very active in our church, Saint James Anglican, here on James Island. In 2011 I was nominated and voted Vice President of our neighborhood HOA, serving 6 years. I have been a member of the Junior League of Charleston for 19 years volunteering in our community and serving as Advisor on several committees.

Professionally, I work for the President of Charleston School of Law and serve as the Director of Alumni and Continuing Legal Education Coordinator.

As your Volunteer Director, I will continue to work collaboratively with the board, our coaches, and You. You are what makes JIYSC - our Club does not run without our amazing families. Over the past two years serving in this role, I have worked diligently to improve the organization, accuracy, and transparency of our club’s volunteer tracking process. By creating more efficient systems for volunteer sign-ups, logs, and point tracking. As I seek reelection, I am excited to continue building on these improvements through the implementation of our new software platform, PlayMetrics. While there have certainly been growing pains and ongoing ticket requests with this new platform to further customize and improve efficiency for all of us, I remain committed to making the system as seamless and user-friendly as possible. My goal is to continue creating a streamlined, centralized process where volunteer opportunities, tracking, and reporting are all accessible in one location for the benefit of our members and our organization.

At this point, I realize I am either loved or slightly disliked for all the volunteer reminder emails, or completely crazy for seeking reelection — perhaps a little of all three! But I truly care about this club, its families, and want to ensure our club operates as efficiently, fairly, and effectively as possible - Something I am not quite done trying to change!
